Fred Dunlop opened his first shop, Dunlop‘s Auto Shop in June 1967 (the swinging sixties) at 1206 Shettleston Road, selling tuning systems for Mini Cooper's leather steering wheels and Peco Big Bore exhausts. 14 years later he moved to 1218 Shettleston Road, a larger shop which could take more stock. After the last few years with the business expanding we again were struggling for space and also parking space for our delivery vans (our vans cover the garages in the east end of Glasgow).
Business has been that good Fred has bought the property next door and the property at the rear of the shop and has plans to enclose the shop to approx 3 times the size. This should be completed by end of 2010.
Now Fred plans to take a back seat in the business and leave the day to day running of the business with his son Stewart who Fred made his partner in 2006 and his manager Jim Steenson who is well known in the motor parts scene in the east end. All have vast knowledge in the motor trade and are happy to deal with all your enquiries.
